Advertising Information

Advertising rates for members and non-members are detailed in Advertising Rates & Deadlines and on the USASA Information page at the front of every issue. Commercial Advertising rates are the same as non-member rates. Contact Kathy Glaes for more information.

Check the payment policy here on the website and in the Journal. Ads will not be laid out until payment is received.

Advertisements in the Journal are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. In order to ensure preferred placement in the magazine, reserve a page or send your ad(s) in EARLY!

The advertising rates INCLUDE the cost of laying out your ad. Simply send your photograph, the ad copy and your check or proof of payment from PayPal! Handwritten ads are accepted and welcomed, just make sure we can read them!

If you would like to do your own ad layout, the following applies:

• Because the magazine is produced electronically to be press-ready, "camera-ready" ads are not accepted! If you are unclear as to what this means, please do not hesitate to call Kathy Glaes for assistance with your ad.

When sending electronically self-produced ads the following applies:

• The Journal is printed in 81/2" x 11" format with 1/2" margins on all four sides. Bleed is an additional .125" per side. Text and graphics should remain within the half-inch margin.

• Formats accepted (in either Windows or Mac) are TIFF or JPEG at 300 ppi (flattened), or press resolution Acrobat PDF. Microsoft Word, Publisher or PowerPoint formatted ads are not acceptable as finished product.

• Include a hard copy (printout) of the ad as well as the electronic copy (CD or DVD).

For all ads:

• Send an additional marked-up copy of the ad that indicates the names of all fonts and font sizes and leading used.

• Include the original photograph (if we are doing the layout) indicating cropping positions. Do NOT cut or write on the original photo. Please mark and label all photos clearly on the back with return address information and the dog's name(s). No black & white or color photocopies, or glossy ink jet or laser prints of digital photographs will be accepted.

• High resolution digital photographs (uncompressed TIFF or JPEG will be accepted on CD or DVD or by email. Photos from websites or at web resolution (72-96 ppi) will NOT be accepted.

• If you require a logo to be scanned, there is an additional, one-time scanning fee of $15/$30 (member/nonmember). Your logo will be stored and you can use it in all future ads at no charge.

• If you send materials overnight mail or overnight express, please specify "Waive Signature" for delivery. We cannot guarantee inclusion in the magazine if this is not done.

• Please furnish an email address to receive a proof of the ad.

• Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy and content of their ads. The Journal will not be responsible for any mistakes in ad copy that is not typed. "Flashes" or any information taken by telephone or via email will not be guaranteed for accuracy or inclusion. All advertising is non-refundable. The publisher reserves the right to edit all ad copy.

Return of Ads

Your photos will be returned via Priority or First Class mail with a complimentary copy of the magazine for each ad placed. No need to provide stamps or a return mailer!
