The United States Australian Shepherd Association

PURPOSE

As defined by the Articles of Incorporation of the United States Australian Shepherd Association (USASA) the purpose or purposes for which the corporation is organized are:
bullet(1) to encourage and promote quality in the breeding of pure-bred Australian Shepherds and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection;
bullet(2) to encourage the organization of independent local Australian Shepherd Association specialty clubs in those localities where there are sufficient fanciers of the breed to meet the requirements of the United States Australian Shepherd Association;
bullet(3) to urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the United States Australian Shepherd Association as the only standard of excellence by which the Australian Shepherd shall be judged;
bullet(4) to do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed and to encourage sportsman-like competition at dog shows, field trials, herding trials, obedience trials, and all other club-related activities;
bullet(5) to conduct sanctioned matches and specialty shows, field trials, herding trials, and obedience trials under the rules of the United States Australian Shepherd Association.

The Australian Shepherd Journal is a bimonthly, full-color magazine published by the United States Australian Shepherd Association Inc. (USASA) to help promote and protect the interests of the breed in all facets of competition as well as to serve as a means of communication and a source of information to owners and breeders.
