Titles recognized:
v USASA, AKC, and recognized Foreign Registry earned titles will be honored. (If titles are not USASA or AKC earned titles, you will be required to provide copies of certificates of titles earned from those organizations.) Effective Jan. 1, 2003 - All titles earned on or after Jan. 1, 2003, to be used towards ROM titles, must be AKC titles.
v A progeny cannot count both a foreign and an AKC title if they are identical titles. (i.e. a progeny may not count both a Can. CH. and an AKC CH.)
v A progeny may only count one conformation title, one obedience title, and one performance title in each area (agility, herding, tracking). (i.e. a progeny may not count both a CD and a CDX, but may count a CH., CDX, NA, TD, and HI.) [See attached list for accepted titles.] Titled ILP dogs may not be counted as progeny.
Applications: Applications for a Record of Merit award must be filled out on the USASA “Request for Record of Merit” form, and accompanied by a legible copy of an “AKC Progeny Report” (available from AKC), copies of AKC title certificates, or other official verification of titles from AKC (which include titles and, sire and dam information), as well as copies of certificates of titles earned from other organizations. Any applications submitted that are not legible, or on the USASA “Request for Record of Merit” form will be returned to sender. Please use one form per dog. (Forms may be copied.) No fee is necessary.
Applicants accepted: The USASA Program is for USASA members only. Certificates will be awarded accordingly.
Recognition: Qualifying dogs will be recognized at the USASA Nationals Annual Meeting each year, and results will also be posted in the next published AS Journal. All submissions must be postmarked by Feb.15 of that year. The ROM year will run from Nationals to Nationals.
