Certain restrictions apply to judges who have judged at previous USASA National Specialties:

Judges at previous National Specialties who have judged puppy and veteran sweepstakes, futurity and non-regular conformation classes may not judge in Categories I and II for four National Specialties thereafter.  However, judging in these categories will have no impact on eligibility to judge Regular dog classes, regular bitch classes or Best of Breed.

Judges at previous National Specialties who have judged regular dog classes, regular bitch classes or Best of Breed may not judge again in the same category for six National Specialties thereafter.  However, they may judge any other category after two National Specialties.

Under the AKC’s policy of allowing parent clubs to invite a non-AKC licensed “breed expert” to judge a National or Regional Specialty (*Parent Clubs by request may invite eligible individuals to judge their Nationals or Specialties, page 9, AKC Judge Approval Guidelines), the USASA Board of Directors may invite such an individual to judge the National Specialty under special or unusual circumstances. Nominations will be considered by the USASA Board of Directors and inquiries, or nominations should be made in writing to the USASA Secretary.
